Holy Spirit, Come into Our Creativity
Happy Pentecost! Inspire, Uplift, Counsel, Console, and be with us, Sweet Spirit.
This weekend, the Church celebrates the end of the Easter season with the beautiful feast of Pentecost, the coming of the Holy Spirit poured out upon the apostles in the upper room. This is a celebration of newness of life, of rebirth, of power and courage, and an ability to witness to the ends of the Earth.
As a Christian creative, as a business owner, or just someone who lives to be transformed by a good book, this weekend is an amazing opportunity to invite the Holy Spirit to come into your writing, reading, editing, coaching, course creation, marketing, and so much more. The Holy Spirit animates and brings life, and He can animate and bring life to your creativity, especially if you’ve been experiencing a dry spell as of late. You might pray a short, simple prayer asking the Holy Spirit to fill you with all the graces, fruits, and gifts you need to be successful in your creative endeavors. Invite the Holy Spirit to be part of your creative work each and every time you sit down to work. Invite Him to inspire your imagination and lead your creative efforts to bear much fruit.
In Scripture, Exodus 31:3 reads: “I have filled him with the divine spirit, with ability, intelligence, and knowledge in every kind of craft.”
The word Charism is of Greek origin, meaning “gratuitous gift.” Charisms are special abilities given by the Holy Spirit to enable us to be witnesses in making God’s love known to the world. I invite you to consider the list of 26 recognized charisms below and see which one(s) resonate with you or are manifest in your own creative work or small business (or maybe there are ones you’d like to understand more). I know for myself, I see writing, intercessory prayer, and teaching as very relevant to the work I am doing with Trinity Tree Publishing.

New Job!
Thank you to all who have been praying for my job search. It has been about ten months since I stepped away from my 30-hour-a-week job as a Faith Formation minister at a local parish in my diocese.
Since then, I have been working on growing my small business, as well as working part-time online as a Writing Coach with Santa Clara University. I have been humbled by the way God has provided for my husband and I during these months, but I had still been looking for a stable part-time (or even full-time job) to help give us a greater financial platform to stand on.
WELL, last week, I was offered a 25-hour-a-week Administrative Assistant position at my home parish where I grew up. I applied for the job somewhat on a whim, but God is good in that all the pieces fell into place, and I truly feel deep joy and excitement for this new opportunity. I’ll be starting in just two short weeks! Please continue to keep me in your prayers for a good transition.
NEW Content Creation!
As I recently mentioned, I finished Season 1 of my new podcast, The Work of Thy Hands, and I’m taking a summer break to switch gears to my YouTube channel, where I’m now publishing weekly videos on all things writing, editing, and self-publishing! I’m planning to film new content throughout the summer until I restart my podcast again in the Fall. I’m including the thumbnails of my recent releases!
(***My adorable furry friends also make guest appearances in most of my videos!***)
Consider subscribing to the channel below so you don’t miss any new content! I’m thrilled to be almost at 600 subscribers. What a joy!
BRAND-NEW Marketing Course!
Last but not least, I want to share an amazing new course that just launched a few days ago. The course is four months long and dives into Catholic marketing from a biblical perspective. Emily Ricci is the creator and also the founder of Gloriam Marketing, with weekly newsletters, tips on marketing, consultations, and other resources for being able to reach, inform, and successfully engage your audience with the products and services you desire to bring to them. She does all this from a biblical perspective, and it’s not too late to join!
Check out the link below if you’re interested in taking your marketing to the next level and seeing it not as a burden, but as a necessary grace to be able to connect others to the good work you are doing.
Writing, teaching, and encouragement are the charsims that most resonate with the creative work God has placed in my hands at this time.
Congratulations on the new job!
